Gayatri mantra is a prayer which is directed towards the supreme Brahma, asking to illuminate our intellect (Enlighten us). Gayatri mantra is considered as the most important mantra in Sanatana Dharma and it can be chant by anyone at anytime (Some powerful mantras have restrictions on who can chant, what time it can be chanted, etc but Gayatri mantra does not have any restrictions). 
Chanting of the Gayatri mantra gradually illuminates our intellect (like its meaning itself says).Gayatri mantra is considered as most important Mantra in Sanatana dharma & it can be chant by any one any time.Canting Gayatri Mantra gradually illuminates our intellect .Originally written in the Vedas , the Mantra is made up of 24 syllables that are meant to have both a psychological & physiological effect on our body.  

Every people are nowadays chanting Gayatri mantra while doing their regular puja.The Gayatri mantra is considered as the earliest and strongest of Sanskrit mantras. This is accepted as a true belief that even as hymning the Gayatri mantra and steadily setting it in the mind, if you move on ahead in your life and execute jobs that are conferred for you, your days and years will turn to total cheerfulness, and you’ll have an inner peace in mind. AUM BHOOR BHUWAH SWAHA,
TAT SAVITUR VARENYAM |
BHARGO DEVASAYA DHEEMAHI
DHIYO YO NAHA PRACHODAYAT ||


Meaning :
"O Divine mother, our hearts are filled with darkness. Please make this darkness distant from us and promote illumination within us."
