According to the Vedic astrology, Navagraha - these nine entities have certain fields and energies associated. The influence of such energies on the rise and fall in each one's life is the main study of the Indian astrology. In fact, the astrologers state that the characteristic traits including the physical aspects are actually created and shaped by the position of the Navagrahas in one's horoscope.

    This pooja is usually performed to establish peace or truce with the graha, mainly its negativities.Every aspect of human life is affected by nine planets.Many times , unfavourable positioning of the planets cause problems & stagnation  in our lives.
             
 Navagraha Mantra are to be chanted on the days related to their respective planet Lords.For example : Surya Mantra is to be recited on Sundays, Chandra or Soma Mantra to be recited  on Mondays & so on.Benefits of Navagrah Mantra Chanting of Navagraha Mantras increases Positive effects & Minimise their harmful consequences.
The nine entities that constitute Navagrahas are as follows:
  Surya - The Sun: He is the most powerful entity and is the deity seen every day. He is supposed to be the giver of life.
  Chandra - The Moon: He is the beautiful deity who appeals to everyone. He is supposed to rule one's mind and is mainly associated with the emotions one experiences.
  Mangala - The Mars: He is the one who represents courage, aggression, and ego.
  Budha - The Mercury: This deity represents communication, learning, language, and sports.
  Guru - The Jupiter: He represents a great teacher. He stands for wisdom and knowledge.                 Shukra - The Venus: He is considered to be responsible for longevity, happiness, wealth, and children.                                                                 Shani - The Saturn: He is one of the most feared deities of all. He represents discipline, restrictions, and austerity. Certain positions of his on one's horoscope are supposed to bring adversities.                   Rahu - He represents fear, obsession, issues, and unsatisfied desires.                                           Ketu - He is supposed to bestow spiritual and unattached mind free of desires and ambitions.
Navagraha Stotram 
"Namah Sooryaya, Chandraya, Mangalaya, Budhaya cha, Guruhu, Shukra, Shanibhihi cha Rahuve, Ketuve Namaha."
 
This stotra praises the navagraha’s and is a very popular one. It is believed that by chanting this stotra, can liberate us from all sins and ill effects that may occur due to planetary positions.
